THROUGH THE EYES OF AN YOUNG INDIAN

actually this is a LETTER TO THE FUTURE SO CALLED PRIME MINISTER OF INDIA .thats what he is called in press in India and Abroad . Its Annas 12th day of non-violent strife is on , his health is declining as he is fasting for the past 12 days just to make India healthy .

i wont mince words , all these days when people all over the Country were in uproar for removing corruption from the roots in India , where housewives , students , doctors , lawyers , businessman ,etc .have done their bit to support the Anna team by taking out cars/bike rallies , Mashal and candle marches , even provide the Anna supporters with Langar (food and drinks) to keep up the strength of Anna and his team , i was secretly expecting some positive response from the much hyped future Youngest Prime Minister of the Country .


i remember distinctly a few years back when u came  to my town and met the bright students from the Central University and there were umpteen protests by the opposition parties that you were trying to influence the youth for the sake of your political party . at that time i didnt consider it to be completely true as i had the impression that since you are an icon for the youth in India , everybody see you following in the  footsteps of your esteemed Dad , who began an effort towards India Rennaissance , hence your interaction with the youth in the University is completely justified .  i wasnt in the meet but the media disclosed to me the immense hope the youth of India had in your abilities to guide us safely into the 21st Century , not only in words but in deeds . they idolised you  .they saw you as the next modern Gandhi .

so when the thousands of ANNAs decended on the streeets for a bloodless revolution to overthrow the mistakes of our Democracy in the last 64 years , i genuinely expected you to work from the stage in the Ram Lila Maidan of Delhi or to influence the government from behind the scenes or atleast give a positive opinion towards the Anna movement . but by remaining completely passive you didnot come up to the expectations of a young Nation like India . today , on the 12 th day of Annas fasting , when the government is dilly-dalling for presenting the JAN LOKPAL BILL in the Parliament , a statement from you saying that "Corruption wont end just by enacting a Law" , has really dissapointed me as now i dont see a fine future leader in the Country who is young , energetic and also has the will power to move mountains and put the system right .

according to me instead of searching for reasons to downplay the massive response of the country to Anna Hazares call against corruption , you should have realised this golden opportunity that fell on your lap by chance to start  cleaning up India by making  atleast a positive response . in one way you are right . Laws do not eradicate evils from a Country  . the major loop hole of the government of India ever since the Independence have been the lack of implementation of rules and laws there has been no checks and balances to verify whether laws are being obeyed , public servants have been duing their duty or not , and whenever there has been an breach of law strict action follow ups have not been implemented . hence blaming the Constitution for our maladies is not correct since the people who are in power , those who have been chosen by the citizens through elections and are called the honoured MLAs in Country . have simply not done their duties by the Country .its them whom we empower to run the system in the country .

all the parlimentarians upto now have done is to work minimum , never have a fresh look at what the Country requires and always are active on how they can make money in big budget commmisions . this way corruption has developed into a massive Demon . so the main culprits in the system is the people we elect in power .

if you really want to be the next Millenium Gandhi ensure that the JAN LOKPAL BILL gets enacted into a law and gets implemented strictly all over the Country . please try to carry forward the good work began by your father , continued by Ram Dev Baba (who has singular credit to reawaken National Pride in Indians within and outside the Country just like Swami Vivekanand had done one time) and brought to a culmination by the Gandhian Stalwart , SHREE ANNA HAZARE. get out of the old mould by introducing fresh ideas in the system , replacing the existing positions of power with young blood , qualified to handle  the job and the Country . cleanse politics , improve Indias image Internationally by removing the blot of corruption . make India strong wihin and outside the Country by demolishing inner weaknesses and highlighting our strengths .

MAN RISE TO THE OCCASION .MAY BE THIS IS YOUR LAST OPPORTUNITY TO PROVE THAT YOU ARE HEAD AND SHOULDERS ABOVE THE PEOPLE IN POWER .YOUR DEEDS MUST BE VISIBLE TO THE PEOPLE  .

REFLECTIONS of an Utopia

well friends you must have experienced the thrill of choosing anything that you desire the most - say buying a Laptop . if you can give the maximum flight to your desires and your imagination within a fixed budget , you will make the maximum effort to get a quality product that comes close to your dreams , isn't it? the dream of The Jan Lokpal Bill getting enacted  is the similar thing . its a wishing stone for the entire Nation . Every person fantasizes about the INDIA , in the aftermath of the Bill  , in her/his own way . but everybody agrees that a country free of corruption will be an Utopia , a land of hopes and dreams , a place to be proud of , a country to leave to the next generation with peace of mind , a place free of crimes , where the standard of living of people in the Country is better than anywhere else in the World , where sportspersons make us proud at every Inter National Meet , where the best man wins but the average man also fares good , and a myriad of other positive developments in civic life .

have anyone of you considered how the government is going to develop a Utopian system without any loop holes for a country as huge as India plus with a population of 1 billion . 


something i read up that corruption exists least in small countries  with small populations . something to do with managing a system more efficiently on a small scale . so now you can realize how complex it would be to handle the Jan Lokpal Bill after it gets passed ! thats what a London Daily recently raised a question on what sort of a system could ensure complete eradication of corruption in all public offices in a democracy . according to the report it would amount to giving a group of individuals  super man powers that would give them unimagined powers within the country and lives of people . then how was the country to govern or police the activities of this special group?


during the time of Indian Independence 1947 , many thinkers , social activists , philosophers , politicians , statesmen of the status of Bhim Rao Baba Saheb Ambedkar , Sarvapalli Radha Krishnan and others helped to form the body of The Indian Constitution with the best intentions .
as usual , some Indians with their innovative crooked mentality  , manage to find loop holes in the system and put all their energies to exploit these loop holes for the benefit of themselves and their families . the result of which is there for everyone to see . whatever nepotism we witness today in the political scenario has resulted in creating an oligarchy within a democracy in the country . do you know saying 'who is worse than an oppressor -  a passive victim'  over the years the Nation just stood as a silent observer allowing people to use the loop holes in the system , bend the rules to their sweet will . 

the million dollar question is that in the present fast food generation  where will the country search  those selfless Indians with the country's best interests in their minds , and with a thorough psychological knowledge of the modern Indian . may be we need to throw in some psychologists in the team to develop that ideal system that will take the country to a new AWAKENING in the future century . 

friends why don't you give me some comments on how this complex system can be developed in your opinion??

THE JAN LOKPAL BILL JAGGERNAUT

at present the environment in India is like a MELA (a joyous village fair) .  right from the  Capital of India to a small town like Bilaspur , men , women and children from all communities , professions, political groups , and business communities , schools , colleges , universities , - everybody is  enjoying  and supporting ANNA . in all my living years i have never witnessed this environment  of peace and tranquility among the protesters who are aiming to overthrow a multi-headed demon  of CORRUPTION that had taken its root ever since India gained INDEPENDENCE  . upto now Indians had simply accepted and learned to live with rampant corruption . but  today i notice a strange hope in the eyes of millions of average  Indians - housewives , students , teachers , lawyers , small businessmen  . I believe Indians are eternal optimists . after facing a hocus pocus public and government machinery for more than six decades plus a social system burdened with numerous evils , its a wonder that we Indians always hope that things will work out right towards the end . just like our bollywood Films have a happy ending .

the commercial area in Bilaspur , from Nehru Chowk to Agrasen Chowk is usually never faced  with a power cut . but ever since ANNA supporters  set up stalls at different cross roads (without causing any disturbance in Traffic) i noticed that there are daily power cuts during the evenings . all the shops on that route are doused in darkness with only those with generators having electricity to light up the shops . its strange and one can almost see an invisible government machinery at work , one which crosses all party lines . its almost as if all those at the helms of power want to give the message to the ANNA ACTIVISTS that they may scream on loud speakers about anti corruption  and its benefits as much as they want during the day time but for that they have to pay the penalty during the mights operating by the candle light hoping against hope that the supporters will be discouraged , demoralized .

you know at occasions like this i realize that to be an Indian is much more than just to be born here . when i saw placard carrying Indians outside the Indian Embassy in  New York  expressing their heart felt support for the Jan Lokpal Bill to uproot the corruption in India at all levels , i realize that no matter in which country we live - Once an Indian Always An Indian .  

tomorrow Saturday 19th of August there will be a human chain streching from Gandhi Chowk to Nehru Chowk in Bilaspur in support of Anna and the Jan Lokpal Bill . hope the entire town comes out in its support .

2ND EMERGENCY ,, PART - 4

what i understand is ANNA HAZARE has launched this  Nation wide campaign to free the entire system from top to bottom from the cancer of corruption . this task is so huge that a 1977 like  situation   is developing in the country . anybody in favour of ANNA and his values  faces persecution .
is this how a true democracy operates ?
is it such a big crime to care for the Nation , to raise one's voice against degeneration of National values ?
this is how the British government must have  reacted to Gandhiji's visionary struggle . the funny thing is when Swami Vivekanand delivered his historic speech at the CHICAGO CONVENTION , he was received with open arms by the World Community .

my appeal to all those who can make a difference in INDIA is to broaden their minds , come out from their narrow personal pursuits and start a campaign for National good in order to cleanse the system . when will it percolate into their minds that they have sufficient for themselves and their families . they should use their excess wealth  in projects designed by experts for National good . the amount of shame the citizens of a Nation feel  when there country is considered as one of the most corrupt countries in the world. its something to think about . whatever ANNA is doing is by no means of his personal benefit or for any political parties benefit . misunderstanding him does not solve any problems .

after American Independence from British domination there was a period of 200 years of Emergency , this was for the putting the Nation to order ,  setting the rules ,  disciplining the people , creating National conscienceness  and resulted in making America the show place it is today . may be INDIA needs an extended emergency in the right direction with the belief that the system is in the hands of best brains the Country has!

my sincere regards to Anna and the other activists who are working tirelessly towards a selfless National Interest.

2ND EMERGENCY ,, PART - 3

well........ a few days back i read  that most of the black money stashed away in swiss banks by high profile people in our country has been moved out of these banks within the last one year and sent to locations like Malaysia , Mauritius , etc . so that if there is any drive by the government of INDIA to get back our money for the benefit of our country then they wont be affected . after the Swiss Banks declared that Nations could recover the money kept by there Nationals in Illegal ways (some 2 years back)  the government should have taken immediate steps so that the culprits could not displace their money . but the dily daling attitude of the government inspite of the National hue and cry on this matter  clearly indicates how corruption has spread as a CANCER  in the whole system of the country .even if an individual tries to do his own bit by avoiding corrupt habits , he or she would not be allowed to survive in this system . 'either swim with us or sink alone'.

i will tell you an interesting situation i had faced in my school . i noticed that when teachers joined in the beginning they used to teach sincerely and solve our doubts with interest . so we assumed that was probably because they had come from better schools  and knew how to teach better . but within a year itself their attitude changed drastically . they made a show of teaching , as if  loosing interest and discouraging students from asking doubts . then i worked out that in this system that existed in the school majority of the teachers did not want to teach sincerely or clear doubts . so they can not allow the new teacher to change the system or else they have to upgrade their performance . hence collective pressure on the better teacher will help preserve the system to their advantage .

the moral aspect of  maintaining the highest ideals of the teaching profession , or doing one's duty sincerely  did not cross the minds of the teachers . WHY???
THATS what corruption does!!!!!!!!

it modifies values and morals in society , it makes us worse human beings , it leaves a burden on the next generation to clean up society and  the system . it pollutes mother nature , it misuses resources and funds which ultimately  creates hurdles i providing basic civic amenities to the citizens .  it percolates into the lives of all rich and poor alike . i also helps to break up age old social systems that have made this country great for thousands of years .

even the people who are neck deep in the system and are corrupt to their finger tips are not exactly spared . excess money that is not earned by ones sweat and bloood  manifests  its evils in different ways . they loose their sense of morals  , living lives of addiction towards alcohol and women , encouraging prostitution in the country , torturing their daughters-in-law for dowry in inspite of having sufficient wealth to last for generations  , forcing their wife to kill an unborn female child inspite of having sufficient wealth to give her a bright future , spreading rampant eve-teasing in the Capital of the Nation as the current system has underlined in society that wealth earned through legal or illegal means gives you and your family the power to treat people like dirt , to treat women like doormats , to treat nature as if GOD has given you the exclusive right to destroy it provided you have the right contacts and funds to back you.

WHEN  WILL THE PEOPLE IN POWER , THE THINKERS , THE PHILOSOPHERS , THE EXPERTS in various  fields come together as a unit to think for COMMON NATIONAL GOOD.
Perhaps like the New York Business School , people in high positions (those who can make the right changes in the system ) should read up 'THE GITA' , dicourses by Lord SHREE KRISHNA to ARJUN on the battle field of Kurushetra 6,000 years ago .

the message of this great  book in short is ;
1) "if you work towards others happiness you get back many times more returns for yourself".
2) "the more you pursue your personal happiness at the cost of happiness of others the less you earn and the more you fall ".
3) "do your karma (duty) under all situations , without any self interest , dont bother for the returns because returns will automatically come to you without your asking".
4) "you have only your conscience to guide you . if you have done the right thing in that situation then GOD is with you. you can easily cross this Bhavsagar (an ocean , in spiritual terminology the Earth is a myth which creates a Kaleidoscope of experiences thats like a trick of magic .  one has to stay put till we live trying to maintain the highest ideals of human life inspite of umpteen difficulties in the path.) provided god is on your side . whats more if you have really tried to do your best by everyone then you need not come back on the EARTH again after this birth . "

2ND EMERGENCY PART - 2.

do you know friends , some time back in the newspapers there was some talk about legalizing CORRUPTION , that set the horses in my mind racing . on the one hand we as a NATION pretend that corruption doesn't exist and at the same time we also believe that corruption is a part and parcel of the society  and we can not do without it . so it is not such a bad thing . its the same thing as when you get a salary  in a job , its something that you can anyway get .  but a bonus gives you more pleasure than your salary . and if you manage through corruption to earn a bonus many times a day or at the highest level to siphon off Crores of Rupees in a  2G or CHARA GHOTALA or a DEFENSE DEAL then it makes your day . this system has been developed by our older generation , especially those in power , ever since the country's independence such that today corruption has become a MULTI HEADED DEMON which has dominated the mind and souls of maximum people in positions of power and wealth .

so may be if ANNA would have launched a campaign for passing a bill to legalize corruption , may be the cabinet and the Parliament would have passed it unconditionally even before our 2011 INDEPENDENCE DAY .


So lets imagine that corruption is made legal in INDIA . then the cuts of the people in the road construction department are now fixed . hopefully after that the work gets done of the highest quality because now no body can siphon off development funds 100 percent as the cut rates are also included in the total cost of construction . the old pensioner need not be harrassed  for drawing his monthly pension after retirement by the clerks and officers in charge of pension handling  because the money that comes to him is after the cuts of those middlemen . but atleast hopefully the pension reaches his account on the 1st of each month without any trouble .


the DEFENSE DEALS to buy air crafts from other Nations will have pre - decided cuts starting from the people in the defense minsitery (including PMO)  , the Airforce , the Semi Defense organizations where the Aircrafts are asssembled . this way we would not have inferior quality parts and other sub standard material  (which may have found there way into the Aircrafts either in INDIA or from the Originating Country) fit into our fighter Aircrafts consequently responsible for taking the lives of talented Pilots of the Airforce for no fault of theirs. this state in the country , the level and reach of corruption  within the Defense Sector also is scaring off talented youngsters  from becoming fighter pilots to serve their Nation and taking to flying cargo and Helicopters,  simply because they dont trust the system . we would also save Millions of Rupees when these Aircrafts stop crashing during test flights in no war situation .

IS IT A 2ND EMERGENCY????????????????? ,,,PART - 1

yesterday one of my friends send me a message urging us youngsters to do our bit towards the anti corruption drive started by ANNA HAZARE and thousands of his followers in INDIA. we just had to send a miss cal at this number : 02261550789 . it was KIRAN BEDI'S portal to register the response of the common people of INDIA to the LOKPAL BILL . if 25 Crore  miss cals were registered then the government had promised to pass the bill as it is without any changes .

i tried to call but my cal did not reach in 6 hours . next i tried to message but my AIRTEL Sim deducted all my balance in one go. i am not able to send any messages from my Airtel number in spite of a message card in it.
the BSNL and IDEA Networks are either not letting the cal pass or considering this number did not exist . earlier to this also SHREE ANNA HAZARE had launched a struggle a few months back at this context and at this time also we youngsters had given him complete support and also received thanks messages from there end. . this time too my friend received a thanks message from KIRAN BEDI'S Portal .


KIRAN BEDI is India's 1st women police officer . ina  powerful region that NEW DELHI is she never discriminated or let go of even high powered criminals . she was eternally transferred due to her honesty and devotion to her service . she is the living epitome of what INDIA can be if every individual in the country has her sense of NATIOMAL PRIDE and commitment to their duty . Hats off to her more so because  we live in a country were the electronic media needs to be gagged  due to a harmless person who is as old as ANNA .
